THE 2010 AMERICA'S ART & ARCHITECTURE SERIES
Washington - Philadelphia - Ottawa - Chicago

Washington D.C.
March 25 - 28, 2010
SORRY,
THIS SMALL-GROUP DEPARTURE IS SOLD-OUT
For nearly one hundred years, people from all over the world have gathered in
Washington D.C. to celebrate the explosion of blooming cherry trees that surround
the Jefferson Memorial on the Tidal Basin - an everlasting 1912 gift from the people
of Japan. What better time of the year to witness this celebration of spring, while
many Yoshino cherry blossoms reach their peak. But we've got other art and
architecture treasures to explore while in the nation's capital. For openers, a relaxing
luncheon
on the Potomac awaits all guests. We later visit the springtime gardens of
Hillwood Estate and museum, view a major exhibit of Georgia O'Keefe at The Phillips
Estate, explore the National Art Gallery with ample time set aside to view their galleries
and exhibits, and go alongside the much awaited Xi'an Terra Cotta Warriors at the
National Geographic Museum
. Get-aquainted dinner, breakfasts daily, included. >>MORE

Chicago Art Treasures
Over the 4th of July Festivities
July 02 -05, 2010
Where else than Chicago, to combine art + architecture + July 4th festivities? This year's
tour with the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery was a runaway success!  Due to popular demand,
we return to the deluxe Sheraton Hotel & Towers - centrally located to all downtown activities,
and just a short walk to Navy Pier, the Magnificent Mile, Millennium Park and the Art Institute
of Chicago. We
have a Saturday morning walking tour arranged through Millennium Park,
Chicago's newest attraction, followed by a private led tour of the Art Institute of Chicago's
new Modern Wing. The narration focuses on highlights of the museum's collection of modern
art and provides information on the architecture of this wing designed by Renzo Piano.
Balance of the afternoon is reserved for AIC docent instruction and private viewing. In
Chicago, the fireworks happen along the shore on Saturday night! Sunday morning, trained
interpreters will discuss Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece of Prairie style architecture at the
Robie House, followed by a private narrated walking tour of several Wright homes in Oak Park.
A Sunday brunch at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant follows an instuctive viewing inside the Museum
Of Contemporary Art.
A repeat memorable farewell dinner awaits our group at The Russian
Tea Time. Our motorcoach tour commences in Toronto, with an Air Only option.

An Impressionist Art Immersion In The City Of Light
We now have arranged two NEW planned late summer and fall hosted tours to Paris for
2010, both designed equally for new and seasoned art lovers. There will be an emphasis
on you personally viewing world class masterpieces of sculpture and paintings at the Louvre
in a small group environment alongside our knowledgeable scholars and guides. Throughout
the week, we visit an absolutely stunning collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist
masterpieces – art collections at the Musée d'Orsay and across the Seine at L'Orangerie.
We take a day off away from Paris to visit Monet's house and former workshop plus
stunning gardens, as he lived and painted it. Our daily pace is relaxed but there will be
some walking, such as to the Marais district to hear about stories of royalty, mistresses
and intrigue. We spend a delightful morning at the Musee Rodin, housed in the stunning
250 year old Hotel Biron to view the lovely surroundings and an intimate view of over
300 sculptures. A fun wine evening, lots of meals, plus ample downtime to revisit back
alleys and nearby bistros.

Later,
